Lauren first represented Team GB as just fifteen, competing in the Paralympic swimming team for Beijing 2008 and London 2012. She began her paratriathlon career in 2011, entering her first triathlon, the British Championships, in Nottingham 2011 and finishing second after her uncle, a triathlete himself, suggested she try the sport.
Since then, Lauren has specialised in paratriathlon and represented Team GB at Rio 2016 where she achieved the silver medal, Tokyo 2020 where she won the Paralympic Champion title, and Paris 2024 where she won bronze in the Women’s PTS5 triathlon. In the 2022 New Year Honours, Lauren was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her athletic success and work as an inspirational figure, breaking barriers and encouraging others to overcome challenges.
With twenty-two years of competitive athletic experience, Lauren has experienced both the physical and mental demands within sport, positioning her perfectly to share her knowledge on mental resilience and understanding how to achieve balance between sports careers and athletes’ personal lives with Sporting Champions.
In addition to her sporting achievements, Lauren is an esteemed university graduate, completing a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree and a Business and Management master’s degree at the University of Portsmouth. Her next academic goal is a PhD studying preventative mental wellbeing practices for Olympians and Paralympians.
