CHAMPIONS SCHEME
The Everyone Active Community Champions programme celebrates the unsung heroes—volunteers, advocates, and leaders—who make an extraordinary impact on their local communities. From grassroots initiatives to charity fundraisers, these individuals drive meaningful change and inspire others to get involved.
Applications open once a year, with dates announced on this website. Successful applicants will receive supported access to Everyone Active’s facilities to further their impact.
By shining a spotlight on these remarkable contributors, the programme acknowledges their invaluable work, encourages wider community engagement, and reinforces Everyone Active’s commitment to fostering inclusion, support, and wellbeing.
WHAT DOES THE SCHEME OFFER
Formal Recognition
Public acknowledgment of your contributions through Everyone Active’s platforms, such as newsletters, websites, press releases and social media channels.
Supported Access
Gain supported access to an Everyone Active space to run your project from. Examples may include hall space to run a senior or disability sports session to forge connection, or a neutral space to host a mental health groups for those who need a listening ear.
Inspire Others
Opportunities to share your story online and in-person, inspiring others to take action in their local areas and improving community engagement.

MEET THE ACTIVE MINDS
A COMMUNITY CHAMPION SCHEME
Everyone Active supports the Active Minds Project through its Community Champions scheme at Lammas Leisure Centre.
We’re continuing to support Active Minds UK by providing a safe and welcoming space at Lammas Leisure Centre for regular combat sports sessions.
Small groups of children can take part in activities designed to support both their physical and mental wellbeing, while parents can stay and enjoy the centre’s facilities.
MEET MUMS ON THE MOVE
A COMMUNITY CHAMPION SCHEME
Everyone Active supports Mums on the Move through its Community Champions scheme at Jamie Brough Pavilion.
Mums on the Move provides free exercise opportunities for mums and their babies across Nottingham, helping women improve their fitness and wellbeing while making new friends.
Since launching in July 2025, the project has connected with around 200 mums, and its success has also led to the launch of Girls Run Club Notts, helping women build confidence and discover a love of running.

MEET THE Y.E.S PROJECT
A COMMUNITY CHAMPION SCHEME
Everyone Active supports the YES Project through its Community Champions scheme at K2 Crawley.
The project offers free dance and movement sessions for inactive and disadvantaged young people aged 7–17 across Sussex. Using dance as a tool for empowerment, Y.E.S helps young people overcome challenges, get active, and unlock their potential.
MEET TEN LITTLE TOES BABY BANK
A COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS SCHEME
A registered charity since 2019, providing families facing financial or social hardship with essential supplies for children aged 0–12. Based in Crawley, the charity receives referrals from social workers, midwives, food banks, schools, and community groups across a diverse local community.
Criteria
- All community projects must be not-for-profit organisations
- They must be located within the area of an Everyone Active centre or facility. Find your local centre here
- Projects must have a clearly defined target audience, with needs that are directly supported or addressed by the service provided
- The project’s core values and purpose must align with, or complement Everyone Active’s core values and purpose and your local council’s strategic priorities
