From grassroots and regional athletes to Paralympians and Olympians, we support athletes of all ages. Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a nationally ranked athlete; or

  • Be a current member of a regional squad, with regional-level results or representation within the past two years; or

  • Have placed in the top eight at regional championships or an equivalent competition within the past two years.

As an Everyone Active Sporting Champion, you’ll also be expected to fulfil certain other criteria. These include the following:

  • You’ll be required to share and post content (1 x per month) about Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions Scheme on social media including relevant brand requirements (which will be discussed with the successful applicant). Your content will need to follow the terms of use of the social media platform you use and comply with all legal and regulatory advertising/marketing requirements and guidelines. You will be required to have your own, active, social media pages.
  • You’ll be expected to use, visit and train at your local Everyone Active leisure centre and tag the leisure centre in any social media posts.
  • You must also be located within close proximity of an Everyone Active leisure centre.
  • You must not be contracted to an agreement with any other operator during the time of their application.
  • You will be expected to be in training and competing for the next 12 months.
  • There are no age restrictions to the scheme, but under-16s will need to be aware of certain equipment use limitations Junior Fitness Memberships – Everyone Active

Terms and conditions:

  • The above criteria as a guidance for the Sporting Champions team who will determine the distribution of funding within the categories. Olympic and Paralympic sports will be prioritised but applications will also be considered from sports that fall under Sport England’s jurisdiction.
  • Where a category is oversubscribed, international experience may be taken into account as part of the selection process.
  • The scheme may ask for proof of sporting achievements to support the decision-making process.
  • As part of the application process, all athletes must provide a headshot and a 100-word biography.

Successful athletes will be asked to:

  • Provide regular updates on their sporting achievements throughout the year; and
  • Notify the scheme of any injury that prevents them from participating in their sport.
  • Everyone Active leisure centre membership will only be valid for the duration of the 2026/27 scheme, from 1st May 2026 until 30th April 2027.
